  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  
  In some environments, the "Re-type" prompt for passwords
  during configuration is rendered such that the "R" is
  presented at the end of the prior line:
  
    Enter TSM Administrator Password (default is: ****):      R
    e-type : TSM Administrator Password (default is: ****):
  
  When the standard input, output, and error streams from the
  configure step are captured via the "script" command, we can
  see the cause is an out-of-place backspace character:
  
    hex:  08 20 08 20 0D 0A 08 52 65 2D 74 79 70 65 20 3A
    char: BS SP BS SP CR LF BS R  e  -  t  y  p  e  SP :

  This suggests some sort of character buffering issue.
  
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  
  We were not able to reproduce this in-house. There is
  apparently some sort of environmental factor that
  controls buffering such that the symptom is not always
  visible. In the customer environment, the problem
  occurred while attempting to configure the SK agent.
  

Local fix

• There is no workaround. However, the problem appears to be
  entirely aesthetic.

Problem conclusion

• The prompt no longer emits the problem backspace character so
  the text is displayed properly.
