Error description
When an synchronous signal (SIGBUS, SIGSEGV, SIGILL, SIGABRT or SIGFPE) is generated within MQ code, and the application had previously registered a signal handler directing the signal to be ignored, the application enters a loop as WebSphere MQ repeatedly writes out FFSTs with Probe Id XC130003.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere MQ applications, which prior to calling MQCONN(X), registered that one or more of the following signals are to be ignored: SIGBUS, SIGSEGV, SIGILL, SIGABRT or SIGFPE Platforms affected: AIX,HP-UX (Itanium),HP-UX (PA-RISC),Linux (Power),Linux (s390x), Linux (x86),Linux (x86-64),Linux (zSeries),Solaris (SPARC), Solaris (x86-64) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: When one of the synchronous signals (SIGBUS, SIGSEGV, SIGILL, SIGABRT or SIGFPE) occurs within an application while executing in WebSphere MQ code an FFST is written. If the previously registered signal handler is set to SIG_IGN, then MQ will allow the signal handler to return allowing the signal to be re-driven. If no other action is taken a large FDC file is created as the WebSphere MQ signal handler is continually re-driven for the same signal.
Problem conclusion
The WebSphere MQ Signal Handler has been changed to terminate the process if a synchronous signal occurs in MQ code and the previously registered signal action is to ignore the signal. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v6.0 Platform Fix Pack 6.0.2.12 -------- -------------------- AIX U842074 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U842208 HP-UX (Itanium) U842213 Solaris (SPARC) U842209 Solaris (x86-64) U842216 Linux (x86) U842210 Linux (x86-64) U842215 Linux (zSeries) U842211 Linux (Power) U842212 Linux (s390x) U842214 v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.7 -------- -------------------- AIX U843721 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U844089 HP-UX (Itanium) U844094 Solaris (SPARC) U844090 Solaris (x86-64) U844096 Linux (x86) U844091 Linux (x86-64) U844095 Linux (zSeries) U844092 Linux (Power) U844093 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
