  Customer is using ITNM in a multiple virtual machines env
  connected on a switch port that is a trunking VLAN.
  The stitcher is connecting each of the VLAN trunk end points
  directly to the VMs. This meant that in cases where there were
  many VMs connected to the same physical switch port a large
  number of connections were being created ( numConnections =
  numberofVLANs  * numberOfVMs ). I have changed the stitcher so
  that it will leave the VM connected to directly to the trunk
  port instead of to each of the VLAN trunk end points the port
  contains. This way of modelling things greatly reduces the
  number of connections in the NCIM database but will not alter
  the connectivity of the graph used for the RCA calculations or
  the connections which are displayed in the GUI.
  

Local fix

• Recreate the stitcher by just reduce the number of connections
  to NCIM model whitch also affect the performance of the
  import of the topology to NCIM and the speed at which the GUI is
  able to display network views both during and after topology
  updates.

Problem conclusion

• The CreateTrunkConnections stitcher was modified to just
  maintain a single connection from the trunk port to each remote
  neighbour. The trunk ports were then upwardly connected to
  maintain connectivity for RCA purposes.
