    Problem Description:  Inconsistnacies in the Logging in
    procedures for
    Instant Messenger Integration.
    
    
    
    
    Steps to replicate:
    
    Have Installed a Jabba based Insntant Messaging Server -
    OpenFire 3.7.0
    
    Have configured Maximo to connect to by setting up the Instnat
    Messanger
    Profile amd update the System Properties.
    
    Now I configure the Instant Messange ID for WILSON and MAXADMIN.
    The
    format for this data is
    
    username@IM_Server_Domain  (in my env is is wilson@maxtdi )
    
    Now if I login with ID WILSON
    
    And access a SR which is Reported by MAXADMIN.  If you now click
    on the
    IM Icon mext to MAXADMIN you are prompted to login to the IM
    Server.
    
    The username is autofilled in as wilson@maxtdi   when you then
    enter the
    password and hot Connect you get the error
    
    BMXAA0005E - Could not establish connection with IM server due
    to
    invalid account information.
    
    If you then log in with just username wilson   the connection is
    successful!
    
    If I use an ordinary IM Client to login I must Specify
    user@domain.
    
    You also must have user@domain sepcifed in the Person Doc in the
    Instnat
    Messanger ID filed
    

Local fix

  • manually remove the @domain from the login box.
