Error description
A Japanese user is using PCOMM v15.0.3Japanese) to launch Office 365 Excel.exe via (*.bat) file using the PCOMM's PC Organizer function. Command line: STRPCCMD PCCMD('START C:\TEMP\EXCEL.BAT') PAUSE(*NO) (*.bat) file: start excel.exe However, upon launching Excel using this method, the cursor movement performance inside Excel appears to be very slow. This is immediately apparent as compared to ACS, or manual run of Excel, or direct run of (*.bat) file to Excel. The issue seems to only occur in Japanese Windows 11 environments, when running PCO command to launch higher versions of Excel (such as 2024 and 365).
Local fix
Problem summary
Users may experience significant performance degradation and input latency (cursor lag) within Microsoft Excel Office 365 when the application is initialized via IBM Personal Communications (PCOMM). This decrease in responsiveness persists across all subsequent Excel instances opened within the same user session.
Problem conclusion
To mitigate this issue, we have implemented a Decoupled Initialization method. See more details in the technote link below. Technote: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7263379 - (Excel Performance Lag when Launched from PCOMM)
