APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using the RESTRequest node, the API call functions properly the
first time with no headers found. On the second call, however,
an authorization header is detected even though it is not
actually present in the HTTPRequestHeader, resulting in a
    failure.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM App Connect Enterprise V12.0 and V13.0 using
the RESTRequest node with Authentication headers.

    Platforms affected:
    AIX, WinX64, LinuxPPCLE64, LinuxX64, LinuxZ64

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When using the RESTRequest node, outbound API calls may
intermittently fail with HTTP 401 Unauthorized errors due to
inconsistent handling of the Authorization header caused by
    parser reuse.

Problem conclusion

  • The product has been updated to correctly reset the field values
of the HTTPRequestHeader parser before it is reused.
