Error description

  • When the IBM Storage Protect server uses a scratch tape and the
DRIVEEncryption is set to OFF in the DEVclass to which the tape
    belongs
the following warning will be incorrectly shown in the server
    activity log:

ANR8507W Volume <volume_name> is using an encryption key that
is not unique and therefore is not secure.

The above behavior will apply to both IBM 3592 and IBM LTO
    tapes.
The problem is that the server sets the drive encryption without
    checking the DRIVEEncryption setting value.
Despite the above warning message (ANR8507W), the IBM Storage
    Protect server works fine.
