Error description

  • On the Storage Protect server,

the value specified for the activelogsize option in dsmserv.opt
may not match the value specified in the QUERY OPTION output
since we use a value based on the maximum log file size and a
value based on dbLogPrimary to get a value up to the value
    specified by the option.

Problem conclusion

  • The ACTIVELOGSIZE topic in IBM Documentation has been updated to
include the following note. This note clarifies the difference
between the value specified for the ACTIVELOGSIZE option in the
dsmserv.opt file and the value displayed in the output of the
    QUERY OPTION command:

Important: The value specified for the ACTIVELOGSIZE command
option in the dsmserv.opt file might differ from the value shown
in the QUERY OPTION command output. The actual value used is
determined by the maximum log file size and the dbLogPrimary
parameter. As a result, the active log size can be up to the
maximum specified by the ACTIVELOGSIZE command option, but it
might not match the configured value exactly. This behavior is
due to limitations imposed by the underlying Db2 database.

This updated help information topic will be published with the
updated IBM Documentation for IBM Storage Protect server 8.2.0
    in the following topic URL:

    activelogsize

    AIX, Linux, and Windows.
