APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After upgrading IBM Storage Protect server to version 8.1.27,
    the
    dismount of a scratch tape, can fail with:
    
    
    
    ANR8355E I/O error reading label for volume xxxxx in drive
    xxxx.
    
    This only happens when encryption is set in the device class for
    
    
    an LTO drive, and checktapepos is set to no.
    
    It does not affect already used tapes, that are not scratch.
    
    
    In the following example, the following configuration was set.
    
    Devclass -> Drive Encryption: On
    
    q vol xxxx  f=d ->  Drive Encryption Key Manager: IBM Storage
    Protect
    
    The Library GUI ->  Encryption -> "Application Managed
    Encryption"
