APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you configure the Embedded Global Cache introduced in
13.0.3.0 to replicateReadsFrom a list of servers that is
different to the configured list of servers to
replicateWritesTo, you will find that only servers in the write
list are written to and read from, and the read list is ignored.
If you only had a replicateReadsFrom list, the server does not
    replicate the read at all.

Local fix

  • If writing to and reading from the same set of servers is an
acceptable behaviour in your architecture, setting the
`replicateReadsFrom` and `replicateWritesTo` properties to the
same value will allow reading from *and writing to* the
    specified servers.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************

    USERS AFFECTED:
Users using the new Embedded Global Cache introduced in ACE
13.0.3.0, and attempting to configure servers with asymmetric
    replicateReadsFrom and replicateWritesTo lists.

    Platforms affected:
    AIX, LinuxZ64, LinuxX64, LinuxPPCLE64, WinX64

    ****************************************************************

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
An integration server configured to use the new Embedded Global
Cache with an asymmetric replicateReadsFrom and
replicateWritesTo list, would find that the cache is not
    replicating reads as expected.

So values that exist in the
Embedded Global Cache of servers in the replicateReadsFrom list
are not being replicated to the server that is configured to
    asymmetrically read from them.
