APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • User attempts to send a text file to the z/OS host from a
Network Drive folder with a long name containing blanks
(spaces). The file transfer fails without any error message. The
saved SRL file shows the long PC path/name to be greater than
128 characters.

Local fix

  • Reduce the PC path/file name to 128 characters or less.

Problem summary

  • The OpenFile API fails with long paths when a file's path is
longer than 128 characters.

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes have been implemented to support longer file paths
for file transfer.
