Error description

  • In IBM App Connect Enterprise the traceString to print the WAS
log into the service trace has been hardcoded to
    "com.ibm.ws.policyset.*=all:com.ibm.ws.wssecurity.*=all:com.ibm.
    wsspi.wssecurity.*=all:com.ibm.websphere.wssecurity.*=all:com.ib
    m.ws.wssecurity.util.timer.*=off:com.ibm.ws.wssecurity.handler.t
    oken.Cache=off"
and any changes in this traceString provided by the WAS team
would require an ifix to modify it and print the WAS logs in the
    service trace.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
In IBM App Connect Enterprise, the traceString for printing the
WAS logs into the service trace for debugging WS-Security errors
is currently hardcoded. Any modifications to this traceString,
as provided by the WAS team, would require an ifix to update it
and enable the printing of WAS logs in the service trace.

Problem conclusion

  • The product has been updated to enable users to directly specify
any traceString provided by the WAS team with the help of an
environment variable "MQSI_WAS_TRACE_STRING" for printing the
WAS logs into the ACE service trace, thereby eliminating the
    need to create an ifix.
