Error description

  • When mixed LTO media generations, such as LTO6 and LTO7 are
specified with a CHECKIN or CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME command to a
VOLRANGE parameter, the operation will fail with a general
    ANR8825E message.

    Protect: SERVER1> CHECKOUT LIBV LIB1 VOLR=100000L6,200000L7
    REM=NO CHECKL=NO
ANR8825E '100000L6,200000L7' is not a valid volume range.
    ANS8001I Return code 3.

The ANR8825E message needs a change to include information about
the restrictions of the VOLRANGE parameter with a mixed media
libraries. Additional information will be added to clarify mixed
media limitation in the User Response section. Only the same
media generation can be used by the VOLRANGE parameter. If mixed
media generation is specified to the VOLRANGE parameter, the
CHECKIN or CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME operation will fail.

Affected platforms: AIX, Linux, and Windows.

    ANR8825E '123456L6, 234567L7' is not a valid volume range.

    Explanation
The specified string is not a valid volume range.
    SystemAction
The program prompts for a new volume range.
    UserResponse
Enter the volume names in the range that is within the length
    constraints
for the media type being labeled, and which contains only
    alphanumeric characters.
The volume names of the beginning and ending volume must be the
    same in length
and the incrementals must be in digits. The mixed generation
