Error description

  • When using the toolkit flow exerciser to record and save a
    message into the application containing the message flow, any
    'CR' (carriage return) character that is part of the input
    message gets removed from the saved .mxml file.

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of IBM App Connect Enterprise v12 and v13 using Flow
    exerciser in Toolkit to record and save a message.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    LinuxX64, LinuxPPCLE64, AIX, LinuxZ64

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When using the Flow exerciser in App Connect Enterprise Toolkit
    to record and save a message into the application containing the
    message flow, any 'CR' (carriage return) character that is part
    of the input message gets removed from the saved .mxml
    file.
    
    This happens because as part of the XML specification,
    when XML parsers encounter a '\r' character they should either
    substitute a '\r\n' pair with a single '\n', or substitute a
    single '\r' character with a '\n'.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The product has been modified such that if the input message
    contains a 'CR' character it would be serialized into the .mxml
    file as BLOBCHARACTER (bytearray) . This avoids the issue of
    losing the CR character during the subsequent XML parsing
    process.
