IT47523: INSIGHTS DATA COLLECTOR FAILOVER NOT WORKING WHEN PRIMARY DATA COLLECTOR REMAINS ONLINE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When multiple Storage Insights data collectors are deployed for
  failover/redundancy there is an issue where a device's Primary
  data collector does not failover properly.  This scenario occurs
  when a Primary data collector is not capable of collecting the
  performance for the device, yet that data collector remains in
  an online state.  When the failover is triggered after 11 mins
  of unsuccessful performance collection, that primary data
  collector is again considered as a new Primary data collector.
  As that data collector is not collecting data, Storage Insights
  should not consider it as a potential data collector during
  failover.
