IT47521: STORAGE INSIGHTS IS DISPLAYING ALERTS FOR CALL HOME WITH CLOUD SERVICES DEVICES WITH FUTURE DATE/TIME, YEAR 2125

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Storage Insights GUI is displaying alerts generated after
  January 1, 2025 with an incorrect date.  The alerts show the
  year as 2125 instead of 2025.  This has been observed on alerts
  generated for SAN Volume Controller and FlashSystem devices.
  Also was observed after upgrading the Storage Insights Data
  Collector to build 20250101-0914.

  * systems monitored via Call Home with Cloud services.         *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  * Recommend that you acknowledge those alerts with             *
  * the improper 2125 year to remove them from your              *
  * list of alerts, since they will appear at the top of the     *
  * alert list as the list is sorted by Occurrence Time.         *

  This problem was addressed on Jan 2, 2025 but any alerts
  which were generated before the fix was deployed to IBM
  Cloud will display the year 2125.
  

Problem conclusion

• Due to the critical nature of the problem, this APAR fix
  was immediately deployed to IBM Cloud, instead of
  awaiting a future release.
