Error description
The IBM Storage Protect server SHOW SLOTS command output does not display the barcode value when slots are not empty. Example of the command SHOW SLOTS <Library_name> displaying the issue : Slot 429, status Allocated, element number 1454, barcode not present, barcode value <>, devT=LTO, mediaT=441, elemT=ANY Slot 431, status Allocated, element number 1456, barcode not present, barcode value <>, devT=LTO, mediaT=441, elemT=ANY Slot 432, status Allocated, element number 1457, barcode not present, barcode value <>, devT=LTO, mediaT=441, elemT=ANY Slot 433, status Allocated, element number 1458, barcode not present, barcode value <>, devT=LTO, mediaT=441, elemT=ANY Slot 434, status Allocated, element number 1459, barcode not present, barcode value <>, devT=LTO, mediaT=441, elemT=ANY Slot 435, status Allocated, element number 1460, barcode not present, barcode value <>, devT=LTO, mediaT=445, elemT=ANY Running the command : AUDIT LIBRARY <Library_name> CHECKLABEL=BARCODE will correctly populate the barcode information but it can disappear again the more library operations happen over time until a new AUDIT LIBRARY is performed. Local fix
Run the command : AUDIT LIBRARY <Library_name> CHECKLABEL=BARCODE before running the SHOW SLOTS command to see up to date barcode information.
