APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • On an IBM Storage Protect target replication server the command
    "QUERY DAMAGED <STGPOOL_NAME>"
    
    shows no damaged extents but the command "REPAIR STGPOOL
    <STGPOOL_NAME> PREVIEW=YES"
    
    shows an amount of data that could be repaired for the affected
    cloud or directory container
    
    storage pool.
    
    
    
    This issue can appear if the source and the target Server
    release is 8.1.13 or above and
    
    storage rule for replication is being used.
    
    
    This APAR applies when the following 3 conditions are met on the
    affected IBM Storage Protect target
    
    replication server:
    1) QUERY DAMAGED <STGPOOL_NAME> shows no damage:
    ANR2034E QUERY DAMAGED: No match found using this criteria.
    ANS8001I Return code 11.
    
    2) The activity log for REPAIR STGPOOL <STGPOOL_NAME>
    PREVIEW=YES
    
    shows an amount of data that needs to be repaired.
    ANR4721I The preview of repair storage pool CONTAINERPOOL1 on
    server SERVER1 from server SERVER2 is complete. Extents to be
    repaired: 1234567. Amount to be repaired: 123 GB.
    ANR0986I Process XYZ for Repair Stgpool - Preview running in the
    BACKGROUND processed X,XXX,XXX items for a total of 128,974,848
    bytes with a completion state of SUCCESS at XX:XX:XX AM.
    
    3) The following db2 select command returns a non-zero value:
    db2 "select count from tsmdb1.sd_dedup_audit sdda where
    source=13"
    
    IBM Storage Protect Versions Affected:
    IBM Storage Protect Server 8.1.13 and later on all supported
    platforms

Local fix

  • To repair the damaged extents for the affected container storage
    pool, issue from
    
    the source replication server the following command:
    start <STGRULE_REPL> forcereconcile=yes
