IT47172: IN STORAGE INSIGHTS, "MODIFY CONNECTION" MAY FAIL IF DATA COLLECTION IS STOPPED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Storage Insights, if the data collection is stopped when the
  Modify Connection operation is submitted it may fail and device
  status would then show as Unreachable.
  
  To avoid this potential issue, do not stop data collection
  before performing the action to Modify Connection with the
  updated credentials of the device.
  

Local fix

• As a workaround, if the Data Collection is stopped and
  the device shows as Unreachable (after properly
  modifying the credentials), perform a Test Connection
  to ensure the connection passes and the credentials
  entered were valid.
  
  Wait at least 15 minutes after the Test Connection.
  
  Next, perform a Restart Data Collection. This will
  reset the data collection process and probes and
  performance monitoring should restart.
