    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    During periods of high load, the Integration Node HTTP listener
    on AIX systems may experience performance degradation.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM App Connect Enterprise product documentation has been
    updated with additional guidance on AIX memory and performance
    tuning options.

    On AIX systems, the startDataFlowEngine script
    sets the MALLOCOPTIONS environment variable to tune memory usage
    and performance of Integration Servers. The value set for
    MALLOCOPTIONS is controlled by the MQSI_MALLOCOPTIONS_OPTIMIZE
    environment variable.

    If MQSI_MALLOCOPTIONS_OPTIMIZE is set
    with value MEMORY, then the configuration is tuned for lower
    memory
    usage:
    MALLOCOPTIONS=pool,buckets,bucket_sizing_factor:16,multih
    eap:8,considersize

    If MQSI_MALLOCOPTIONS_OPTIMIZE not set
    (default), the configuration is tuned for higher
    performance:
    MALLOCOPTIONS=pool,buckets,bucket_sizing_factor:16,
    multiheap:32,no_mallinfo

    Select the appropriate option based on
    system resource and performance requirements.

    Note: To optimize
    memory usage and performance of the Integration Node HTTP
    listener, set the MALLOCOPTIONS environment variable to one of
    the values shown above in the startup profile used to start the
    Integration Node.
