APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • CHECKIN LIBVOLUME may display ANR8532I with VAULTRETRIEVE state
    message on a private volume like below, even though there was
    not any disaster recovery manager (DRM) operation with the
    volume.
    
    ANR8532I Volume <volume_name> in storage pool  has been checked
    into library <library_name> with media state VAULTRETRIEVE.
    
    The following scenario may cause ANR8532I.
    
    Step 1: Prepare a private volume.  ( For example, volume_a )
    
    Step 2: Run BACKUP DB with the option VOLumenames=volume_a
    BACKUP DB DEVCLASS=  VOLumenames=volume_a
    
    Step 3: Check out the volume
    CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME library_name volume_a 
    
    Step 4: Check in the volume as a private volume.
    CHECKIN LIBVOLUME library_name vollist=volume_a status=private
    
    
    In the above scenario, the server misses to check whether the
    volume is defined in a storage pool at first, and finally
    displays VAULTRETRIEVE state for a BACKUP DB volume.
    
    IBM Storage Protect Versions Affected:
    IBM Storage Protect Servers 8.1.10 and later on all supported
    platforms.
