APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The IBM Storage Protect server error log (dsmserv.err) may keep
reporting the following error during space reclamation:


ANR9999D pkmemory.c(2618): Invalid attempt to free memory; free
was called from sdrtrv.c(1910)

This message can be safely ignored as it is not causing the
reclamation process to stop.



IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:

All IBM Storage Protect Server 8.1.x on all supported platforms

Local fix

  • Ignore the ANR9999D message
