APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The user is trying to disable the "iSeries/IBMi" (5250)
connection options and limit to mainframe (3270) connections
only, but when deselecting "5250 emulation and services" option
in the install tree, the user can still create or connect to
5250 sessions.

Problem summary


    

  • 1) Choose custom setup installation
2) In the custom setup dialog, unselect "5250 Emulation or 3270
Emulation and Services"
3) After installation, the user can still select "iSeries" or
"zSeries" from host type dropdown box in the Customize
Communication dialog box and connect to the server successfully.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • PCSCC.DLL has been changed to hide iSeries and zSeries entries
from the "type of host" dropdown in the Customize Communication
dialog box according to the features chosen during the custom
installation.
