    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Unable to connect to an SQL Server database from AIX or Linux
using the DataDirect SQL Server ODBC driver. From App Connect
Enterprise V12.0.12.2 the default behaviour of the ODBC driver
has been changed so that it will now validate the database
server certificate. If your environment is not using this form
of validation then the attempt to connect to the database fails.

To restore the ODBC driver to its previous default of not
checking for a server certificate a new setting has to be added
to each SQL Server data source stanza in the odbc.ini file. The
    new setting is ValidateServerCertificate=0.

Problem conclusion

  • The odbc.ini template file, supplied as part of the product, has

been updated to have ValidateServerCertificate=0 added.
