APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An IBM Storage Protect server can crash immediately after
    Replication Storage Rule fails due to an error on the target.
    Analysis of the Windows crash dump will show the following

    The source server crash is a result of a failure in the
    replication storage rule job that occurred on the target server.
    
    Resolving the issue that caused the replication storage rule job
    
    to fail can help to avoid further crash incidents
    
    IBM Storage Protect Versions affected: IBM Storage Protect
    Server Version 8.1.13 and above on all supported platforms.

Local fix

  • There is no direct local fix to prevent the crash. To avoid
    future crashes, the cause of failure on the target server must
    be identified and resolved.
