IT46035: STORAGE INSIGHTS PROBE FAILS ON FLASHSYSTEM STORAGE WITH SSH SECURITY LEVEL 4

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After upgrading FlashSystem firmware, the newly introduced SSH
    security level 4 was enabled on the device. After changing from
    SSH security level up to 4, Storage Insights is no longer able
    to connect to the device, and as a result, the probe fails.
    
    This only occurs when the device is monitored via Data
    Collector.
    
    When a device is monitored via Call Home with cloud services
    there is no impact.
    

Local fix

  • If the storage device supports connecting to Storage Insights
    with Call Home with cloud services, then we suggest migrating
    the device from monitoring with a Data Collector to Call Home
    with cloud services to resolve the connection problem.
