Error description
One or more IBM Spectrum Protect Plus jobs might temporarily display in the GUI they are in status RUNNING while their respective job logs indicate processing finished COMPLETED/PARTIAL/FAILED. For example, the job log says it was finished in status PARTIAL: SUMMARY,..CTGGA2398,Starting job for policy <JobName> (ID:<SLAId>). id -> <JobId>. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1.16-330. ... ERROR,..,CTGGA3608,[<SQLServer>] "The command[logpurge] results for the agent [sqlvdiwrapper.exe] cannot be located". ... WARN,..,CTGGA2341,Setting task status to partial for reasons: [Log purge status failed/partial] DETAIL,..,CTGGA0804,Protection task 2 completed in 5 hr(s) 3 min(s) 54 sec(s) and ended with status PARTIAL. but the status seen in the "Running jobs" tab says 'RUNNING' and elapsed time higher than displayed in the job log : <JobName> Type: Backup Activity: Running Start Time: February 27, 2024 00:05:00.659 UTC Duration: 6h 13m 5s When after some time the Maintenance job can complete, all jobs in the above state change to their respective states COMPLETED/PARTIAL/FAILED according to their job log reports. Problem conclusion
In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.10 and later, expired job sessions were incorrectly left behind by maintenance, resulting in incorrect job session statuses. This bug is fixed in Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16.2 and 10.1.17, resulting in correct job session statuses.
