Error description

  • The IBM Storage Protect Server is reporting "Error 9 from
posix_fallocate for container_name allocating" when not using a
    JFS2 filesystem.

When not using a JFS2 filesystem, zeroes are written to the end
of the file as part of pre-allocation code. In the IBM Storage
Protect Server case the file size is 10GB, then the zeroes are
read back. If there is a problem in rwuio() where the file mask
is set for a read or write operation and the opposite operation
    is tried, EBADF is returned.

    The ffdc shows:
    [01-02-2024 16:01:51.329][ FFDC_GENERAL_SERVER_ERROR ]:
    [88166](psfile.c:2657)(PROCESS: 11401, SESSION: 3307) Error 9
    from posix_fallocate for
    /esstsm2/PR-ORACLE-COMPR/24/87/01/000000000187242a.dcf
    allocating 10737418240 bytes
