Error description
When collecting the IBM Storage Protect Plus job log bundle, the Virgo log included is empty and is showing a file size of '0' KB. The Virgo log included in the IBM Storage Protect Plus log bundle shows that the size of some of the lines is huge due to the thousands of numbers included. Problem conclusion
In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.15.3 and later, log messages that contain hypervisor information were printed to the logs. These messages were proportional in size to the hypervisor workloads being backed up. For customers with large hypervisor workloads, each log message could be 50 KB or larger. These oversized messages caused the log to rotate without containing much other information (i.e., the logs would be consumed by these messages). The rotated logs would cause downloaded job logs to have empty Virgo logs (the oldest message in the Virgo log was after the end of the job session being downloaded). These log messages have been removed in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.16.1 and later, reducing the rate at which the logs rotate, in turn, reducing the likelihood that job logs will be empty.
