Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM App Connect Enterprise V11 and V12 who utilize
environment variables to set the HTTP Proxy location.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The message flow may fail to consider the values set for the
environment variables HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY, which are
intended to route all external HTTP calls through the same proxy

Problem conclusion

  • The product has been modified so that the HTTP Proxy location
specified in the environment variable will be utilized when it
is not explicitly set on the node.

In App Connect Enterprise (ACE) V11.0 and V12.0, the environment
variable will be considered only if the server.conf.yaml file
has the defaults section configured as shown below:

    Defaults:
      httpProxy:
      httpsProxy:

In the future version of the product, the default behavior will
be changed to automatically honor the environment variable. The
old behavior can be restored by editing the server.conf.yaml
file to set the default values to empty strings.
