APAR status

Error description

  • The IBM Storage Protect Operations Center can unexpectedly
    report an IBM Spectrum Protect Backup Archive Client protected
    via LAN-free with AT-RISK status.
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center v.8.1.x on all supported
    platforms.

Local fix

  • Ignore the at-risk status.
    Run the following select SQL from an IBM Storage Protect Server
    Administrative Client command line (dsmadmc) to check if there
    was a successful BACKUP for node X in the last 48 hours.
    
    select * from summary where ACTIVITY='BACKUP' and
    start_time>current_timestamp-48 hour and    (entity=NODE_NAME
    or entity like NODE_NAME(%' or entity like NODE_NAME (%') and
    successful='YES' order by start_time desc
    
    where NODE_NAME is the name of the Backup Archive Client node
    impacted by above behavior.
