IT44863: PCOM: 14.0 32-BIT KERBEROS FAILS WITH ALIAS HOST NAME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• User has assigned several DNS names to the same iSeries host
  dependent on the site the user belongs to. When the user
  attempts to bypass the sign-on screen with Kerberos, it only
  works to the iSeries LPAR host name. PCOM fails to resolve the
  correct host name when the DNS names are used in the 5250
  emulator configuration.

  Here are the steps to reproduce the problem.
  - Create/Launch a PCOM Session
  - Go to Customize Communication
  - Select the iSeries type of host
  - Click on Link Parameters
  - Enter the Alias Hostname in the host field and save the
  session
  - Launch the saved PCOM session
  - The PCOM session does not bypass the sign on using Kerberos to
  connect to the Alias host
  

Problem conclusion

• PCSTLNET.DLL code changes have been made to support alias
  hostname in Kerberos Bypass Sign On.
