APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The IBM Storage Protect Server built-in servermon created the
    servermon.log in the srvmon directory,
    
    which can befound in the instance home directory of the server.
    
    
    From servermon.log, the symptom of the following sequence of
    messages can occur many times
    
    within one second if servermon is unable to connect to db2:
    
    Establishing DB2 connection
    Db2 Database Object is valid - ping to confirm and obtain
    connection
    Ping to DB failed &{
    {sqlconnect; DATABASE=TSMDB1; AUTOCOMMIT=1; 0x8c9e00}

    Unable to connect to server database sleeping.
    
    The result is that it can quickly fill up the instance home
    directory of the server.
