Error description
For the operating systems using Multi Byte Character Set (for example, Chinese, Japanese, Korean), when accessing the IBM Storage Protect Client Web GUI at url https://hostname:9081/bagui/, the message "An error occurred during authentication" in the selected locale can be seen. In the client dsmwebcl.log, "invalid password" is reported as following: ANS3004E Session for user xxx terminated - invalid password entered. In the Spectrum Protect server actlog, an incorrect password or unregistered administrator message is seen: ANR0418W Session xxx for administrator admin (x.x.x.x(x)) is refused because an incorrect password was submitted. ANR0423W Session xxx for administrator admin (x.x.x.x(x)) refused - administrator name not registered. (SESSION: xxx) Once changing the system locale of operating system to English, the web GUI works.
Local fix
Add "traceflag service" in client option file, like dsm.opt. To avoid generating a trace file, do not add "tracefile xxx".
