APAR status

Error description

  • PCOMM session configured in Hebrew BiDi host code page is
crashing when doing COPY/PASTE of data from one session going
another.

Sometimes on the window where pasting the data, an error message
will prompt saying - PCSWS.EXE has stopped working.

This issue only started happening after moving from 32-bit PCOMM
to 64-bit.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* When a Hebrew user copies the entire screen of data from one *
* session to another session, PCSWS.EXE stops working          *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
1) Launch any Hebrew session
2) Click on COPY option from EDIT sub-menu in one session
(Example A)
3) Go to another Hebrew session and click on PASTE option from
EDIT sub-menu (Example B)
On pasting the data, session B will crash due to buffer
overflow.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSEDIT.DLL has been changed to avoid the buffer overflow while
pasting Hebrew data into the second session.
