APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using the MQ Explorer to modify the keystore password
property values of sets of queue managers, the values are not
updated correctly. This works correctly when updating the
equivalent password property value for the truststores.

When a connection is attempted to a Queue Manager following the
update, the error AMQ4598 can be seen for each queue manager, as
a result of the failure to update the keystore passwords.

Local fix

  • To work around the issue you can look to update the individual
queue manager personnel keystore values one at a time.

      - Next to "Specify SSL certificate store details"
      - Enter the correct password for the Personal Certificate
    store
      - Press next
      - Press next to "Select which queue managers to change"
      - Press select all.
      - Press Finish

Now from the all set select a qmgr to connect. Receive error
"Key store file "<path to the key>.jks" could not be opened with
the given password (AMQ4598) for each Queue Manager.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ Explorer has been updated to correctly store the
personal keystore passwords for the selected queue managers.
