IT43476: LONG RUNNING MAINTENANCE JOB COMBINED WITH HIGH CPU USAGE FOR 'MONGOD' SERVICE

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After upgrading to IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version 10.1.13,
  the maintenance job may take longer to complete.
  
  
  Here an example of the maintenance job which took about 15 hours
  before upgrading the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version
  to 10.1.13:

  Another indication for that issue is the high CPU usage rate for
  the 'mongod' service. When running command 'top' from the IBM
  Spectrum Protect Plus command line interface you may see the
  following:

Problem conclusion

• In previous versions of IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, queries made
  to the MongoDB recovery catalog during the execution of the
  maintenance job required a full collection scan, which consumed
  a large amount of memory and CPU. In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus
  10.1.15 and later, MongoDB indices have been added to the
  recovery catalog to reduce the memory, CPU, and time required to
  fulfill these queries, thus reducing the overall system memory
  and CPU usage during the maintenance job.
