APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A Microsoft SQL AlwaysOn (AAG) database cannot be restored if
    the original database does not exist.
    During restore, the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus server attempts
    to connect to the source SQL AAG to collect source information
    needed for the restore.
    When the database no longer exists on the AAG, the restore will
    fail with the following error messages:
    
    .. CTGGA0892,REST API error. URI (http://localhost:8082/api/
                 application/sql/databasegroup/<database_group_pk>)
                 Code (404) Exception (HttpClientErrorException)
          reports: (404 null) Server Exception (XSBResourceNotFound)
          reports: (Resource not found.)
    .. CTGGA0895,Object was not found in inventory.
    .. CTGGA1109,Failed to load source item
                 (<original_alwayson_database>).
    
    Affected versions: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.1 and later.
    

Local fix

  • Instant Access restore and manual database restore.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that SQL production restore of
    alwayson database can be completed, regardless of the presence
    of the original database.
