APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The option "Catalog file metadata" is enabled to turn on file
    indexing of Linux VM. When clicking "Get server key", it returns
    "Application Server Connect Exception" with following error:
    
    
    Could not connect to server <IP address> on port 22. Confirm
    the server is on and can be accessed on the network from the SPP
    appliance. Reason: Failed to connect to server
    
    
    The Linux VM has multiple NICs and IBM Spectrum Protect Plus
    server takes one IP address that it cannot connect.
    
    
    Versions affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus v10.1.10 and later

Problem conclusion

  • This problem has been fixed so that when a Linux virtual machine
    has multiple network interfaces, server key will be obtained
    from the network interface that can be connected from IBM
    Spectrum Protect Server.
