APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Server fails to start post successful
    upgrade. This APAR applies if following conditions meet:
    - Server successfully upgraded from a level below 8.1.13.0 to
    8.1.13.0 or above.
    
    - Following error reports during startup:
    ANR0102E secutil.c(505): Error 1202 inserting row in table
    "SEC.Protected.Items".
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect server 8.1.13 and later on all supported
    OS
    
    
    Additional Keywords:

Local fix

  • Increase that HWMPROTID parameter value using following steps:
    
    - Start DB2 if it is not running:
    >db2start
    
    - Then run below commands to connect and set the schema with
    TSMDB1 database.
    >db2 connect to tsmdb1
    >db2 set schema tsmdb1
    
    - To check the current value, run below command:
    db2 "select int64 from tsmdb1.global_attributes where
    owner='SEC' and name='HWMPROTID'"
    
    - Then, run below command and add 100 to existing value.
    db2 "update tsmdb1.global_attributes set int64=<oldvalue+100>
    where owner='SEC' and name='HWMPROTID'"
    
    - If the problem still happens add another 100.
