Error description

  • Under heavy load, it has been observed that the node-wide
listener ( biphttplistener ) consumes very high CPU and
performance degrades which affect throughput rate. This issue is
more pronounced as the Request header size increases.

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of App Connect Enterprise v11.0 and v12.0 using
integration node listener.


Platforms affected:
MultiPlatform

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The integration node listener ( biphttplistener  process)
exhibits very high CPU usage when put through a heavy load. This
further affects the throughput rate.  This issue is more
pronounced with larger size of  Request headers.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The performance issue and the high cpu on biphttplistener was
caused due to the construction of logging buffer even when
diagnostic traces were not enabled. The biphttplistener
component has now been modified such that it no longer creates
logging buffer when traces are not enabled thus improving the
performance.
