Error description
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus SQL database restore fails with "Insufficient space" and leaves a "Restoring..." database when destination volume does not have sufficient space. The job log shows: CTGGA3034,[sql-server] Failed to restore database. Error: Writer [SqlServerWriter] reported error status([VSS_WS_FAILED_AT_POST_RESTORE] [14]) error message [(0x00000000 00000011E0142A70)] CTGGA3035,[sql-server] Database restore complete. The database is in the restoring state The status of "Restoring..." database can be seen in SQL Management Studio. As a result, the subsequent restore fails because SQL database is in restoring status. The error handling should fail restore in an early stage right after space validation error, so restoring database is not created. Versions affected: 10.1.* Additional Keywords: SPP, SPPLUS, TS009636881
Local fix
Manually delete the Restoring... database through SQL server side, like SQL Management Studio
