IT41900: HYPER-V BACKUP FAILS WITH CTGGA0076 AND ERROR CODE 32790

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After a failed backup of a Hyper-V guest with IBM Spectrum
  Protect Plus, the next backup can fail if some folders in the
  Hyper-V host were not cleaned up.
  
  
  The backup will fail with following error in the Joblog:
  ERROR,<date>,2,CTGGA0076,Unprotected VM:  <vmname>. Last error:
  [Error code: 32790. Error Description: Failed to export virtual
  machine 'vmname' because export directory named
  'c:\programdata\spp\mounts\string_tmp\Virtual Machines' already
  exists. (Virtual machine ID <UID>). WMI error: <WMI error XML
  string>
  
  * Note the WMI error XML string has been removed from this APAR

Problem conclusion

• This problem can occur when initial export attempt fails and
  Spectrum Protect Plus attempts to retry the export. A change was
  made to ensure the initial export directory is cleaned up before
  retrying the export.
