APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Running dmpmqmsg -c for a message of 9230 bytes in a queue,
    dmpmqmsg returns 0 messages.
    it is possible to browse and see the message in MQ Explorer.
    
    dmpmqmsg -b15 -m QM1 -iQUEUE.1 -Ftest.txt -c -u username
    Read - Files : 0 Messages:0 Bytes:0 Written - Files : 0
    Messages:0 Bytes:0
    
    The issue seems to appear with messages larger than ~6665
    bytes
    are not returned by dmpmqmsg (the exact size will vary slightly
    depending on the encrypted size of the payload).
    

Local fix

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    Those connecting MQ clients to SVRCONN channels which have an
    Advanced Message Security interceptor policy defined.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When dmpmqmsg was connected using client mode ("-c") to a queue
    manager via a SVRCONN channel which was is configured to use an
    AMS interceptor, then a programming error in MQ caused the queue
    manager to return rc=2033 MQRC_NO_MSG_AVAILABLE when the queue
    contained messages larger than ~6700 bytes.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The programming error has been fixed.
