Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users using comma separated multiple connames in their channel
definition may hit this issue, especially when one of the
conname is not reachable and attempt is being made to reconnect
    with the other conname.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A logic error meant that in the event of a failure reading an
internal MQ data file as part of the channel startup, the
failure to start the channel was not correctly communicated to
the remote side of the channel, which meant the remote side did
not immediately retry the connection, even if another connname
    for the channel was available.

Problem conclusion

  • The inbound channel logic has been corrected to correctly return
an error to the remote peer if a failure occurs when reading the
    config file.
