Error description

  • It is invalid to use the mqrestore command on the IBM MQ
Appliance to restore a queue manager backup created with a newer
release - for example using the command on the 9.2 firmware
level to attempt to restore a backup from the 9.3 level .

This condition was not reported with a meaningful error.

Users trying to restore a backup from a newer version of MQ to
an older version.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A number of internal command errors were reported to the user
when a newer version MQ backup is being restored at an older
version.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A new error message, AMQ3496E, is now displayed to advise that
the backup created with a newer firmware level cannot be
restored on the current firmware level.

The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs:
