IT40674: SWITCHES AND STORAGE SYSTEMS SHOW EXTRA ROWS WITH BLANK DATA

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Extra rows without data populated were observed for switches and
  storage systems in some environments.  The rows have a system
  UUID value available but most other details about the device are
   blank (e.g. name, type, WWN, IP address, etc).  Data collection
   is typically not successful.

  Trying to click into a device like this results in an error.

  Oops something wrong happened on our end. We did not receive any
  data for the request. Error code: TSS:500.

  The blanks are also observed in the dashboards.
  
  - Operations Dashboard
  Clicking to the Properties tab for one of these devices in the
  dashboard gives the following message:
  "The resource is not currently being monitored. Add the resource
  to collect asset and status data."
  - NOC Dashboard
  Nothing loads for details when clicked.
  
  These mostly blank rows have been referred to as ghost or
  phantom devices.
  

Local fix

• A user with the administrator role can right-click and remove
  the blank rows that aren't valid.
