Error description

  • When the dmpmqcfg command is used with a z/OS queue manager then
    an incorrect number of objects is returned in the summary
    section of the dmpmqcfg output. Here, for example, there are
    two reported QueueManager object results despite only one queue
    manager being queried:

    * QueueManager count: 2

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    IBM MQ on z/OS sends an MQCFT_XR_SUMMARY PCF response message
    when it replies to dmpmqcfg PCF inquire commands. These
    messages were being incorrectly counted as object records,
    meaning that the count of each object type in the dmpmqcfg
    summary was one more than it should have been.

Problem conclusion

  • dmpmqcfg was modified so that MQCFT_XR_SUMMARY PCF messages are
    ignored and are therefore not counted as object records.
