APAR status

Error description

  • Spectrum Protect Server Cloud container storage doesn't support
    S3 Glacier, moving Cloud container storage data  from S3 to S3
    Glacier can cause damage and restore failure.
    
    cloud object storage support page had been updated to indicate
    we only support S3 Glacier for "cloud retention storage pools" ,
    With this APAR, we will introduce an error message for users
    stores Cloud container storage data in unsupported cloud
    devices.

    platforms

Local fix

  • 1. Recall the containers in Amazon S3 from the glacier storage
    class.
    
    2. Move the containers in Amazon S3 back to the the standard
    storage class.
    
    3. Issue an audit in the server to reset the container etags:
    
       audit container stg=<stgpool_name> resetetag=yes
    4:if there are damages in the pool, additional steps required:
    audit container stg=<stgpool_name action=scandamaged ( or
    scanall)
