  the column is changed.
  
  Query which performs faster has below in the where clause
  <<<<<<<<<
  PAYMENT_DATE BETWEEN '01/01/2021' AND '01/31/2021'
  <<<<<<<<<<
  If the above is changed to below range the query never completes
  <<<<<<<<
  PAYMENT_DATE BETWEEN '01/01/2021' AND '01/01/2022'
